Happy Birthday Miss Scarlet
Today we are especially happy for Miss Scarlet who is celebrating her 29th birthday, and since there's no birthday without a little song, I caught up with my good friend Kylie and she sends this message to Miss Scarlet and the rest of us.
Or, if you prefer this..
PS. Don't forget to check out my previous post in which you will be introduced to the inner workings of my mind and that of those involved in the making of the movie Knight & Day.

If you don't love me
I knew of Miss K and her work and had for years. Then things went terribly wrong in camp Pete and in whirl of tears, anger, hurt, pain and of cours glitter I ran for the hills. When I say hills, I don't mean actual hills because the only proper hill we have is this which is quite pathetic actually. Hills, in this little story is our kingdoms capital Copenhagen. Although Copenhagen quite quickly turned into Helsingør which is not very far from Copenhagen. It had a school where I could stay and maybe learn some compassion for others less fortunate than myself, and maybe learn not to exploite good old Mother Nature. It was the right thing to do, for everyone involved. As I mentioned, things at home were awful (my family thought it even worse) and it was a way for me to get away, gain some perspective, redo my makeup, find a lovely boytoy and perhaps never come back again. It turned out, I did move back and ended up at my childhood prison for a few months before I got my own flat
My time at the school (this was NOT for juvenile delinquents, depressed people or in any way the kind that you were forced to be at because you were chavvy and the like, just fyi. Read about it here if you like), was quite the experience as I ended up doing things I never thought I'd ever do. There was a lot of sitting around and talking, playing games, having fun, plays and whatnot. Most of the things I never thought I'd do were the dancing and trust exercises. Basically I was the one that stuck out because I hated sharing and I didn't trust anyone.
At this time Kylie had been Spinning Around for a while and On A Night Like This had been doing the rounds. So, Kylie was doing it for the Kids with Robbie and I needed that happy music. It was the only thing that kept me happy (it also helped once I got to know those freaky normal people at the school from all corners of the world) and so on March 23 2001 I took the train in to Copenhagen and partied with all the other gays at the tiny venue VEGA. We were 1500 people cramped in there dancing. I was in 4th row from the stage and it was possibly the most unique and intimate concert by a major artist I've ever attended.
Since then, I've attended one of all Kylie's tours. In total it's been 7 including an appearence she did at the Skanderborg Festival aka. Smukfest in 2009.
Those 7 concerts includes Miss K's latest word tour Aphrodite Les Folies the opening night in Herning, Denmark.
Let's just make it clear from the word go. No, I was not on that video. If you squint and shake your head furiously you may catch a rare glimpse of my ex boyfriend who is said to have been there. Well, he told me himself but that's neither here, nor there.
That particular Saturday was a lovely one. I woke up early, and spent a fair bit of the day lounging on the chaise corresponding with the ever so lovely Miss Roses on spacebook. Then in a whirl of glitter and panic I managed to get my outfit on and hurry out the door to meet my ever so lovely bestest friend evah.
We arrived at the venue about 5.30pm and were ushered to our private Splash Zone entrance where we checked in and got our Splash kits and wristbands. As we stood there waiting for the powers that be to open the doors a man (who looked a bit familiar) came over and poked me on the shoulder asking if I were me. I told him I was, and he handed me an envelope and explained that they were thrilled that I had been such a loyal fan and purchased the Splash Zone tickets. The man, who turned out to be Kylie's manager Terry, told me that they would be giving me a refund of the tickets I'd purchased less standard admission and Kylie had signed the "exclusive photo" in our Splash Packs. We were well happy with this, and then time came for us to be escorted to our exclusive Splash Zone.
We made it to second row by the main stage which turned out to be an awesome place to be. Miss K treated us to awesome facial expressions, even more awesome singing and a stunning show. Splash Zone was on fire on opening night in Denmark. It was only appropriate that Kylie and her team had prepared a water show to finish off the show with All The Lovers and sprays of water over our little patch within the stage.
Kylie took us through the gods and goddesses and the mythological world in a way that only a pop show can do. Taking it's liberties, and making sure that it all looked and sounded fabulous. We were treated to a majority of album tracks from her platinum album Aphrodite (buy it here) as well as a lot of the old hits. When I say old, I mean mostly from within the past ten years. There was no Locomotion or I Should Be So Lucky, which I found a bit refreshing as it left room for other tracks.
Quite a few songs stood out, but this went down incredibly well within Splash Zone (which consisted of quite a lot of hardcore Kylie fans and the like) as you can hear here
You can hear me wohooooing on there. Quite a lot. The track is If You Don't Love Me and the fact that it was performed was mindblowing as it was only released as a B-side to a single back around 1996. So, yes lots of wohooooooing going on as well as amazing footwear.
Let this be a wonderful time to say that Dolce & Gabbana did an amazing job creating all of Kylie's outfits for the show. There's not much else to say about it but
and of course, I took the following photo with my iPhone to show you all how Dolce & Gabbana thinks a goddess bathing suit should look.
Credits: Kylie, the wonderful Yorin on YouTube and my lovely iPhone 3G S.
PS. Stay tuned for the Academy Awards (maybe not-so-live-)blogged tomorrow

T-minus 2 days
Is it just us, or has the temperature risen in here?
There's no need to rehearse this one, we ALL know it. Breaks my heart to see it, knowing she was coming off stage with blurry vision from the illness. The showgirl must go on though.

You try wearing these heels
People who only wear certain designers and don't mix and match, are in my opinion fashion victims.
That said, I *do* like Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Gucci. Unfortunately I just can't afford to buy a lot of it. Especially not now as I'm saving up for another trip to Las Vegas where I will most likely be
If I did, I'd most certainly be getting pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. One must have a pair of those, and I don't. Not yet anyway but these are most certainly on the shortlist.
These fabulous Christian Louboutin studded peep toe ankle booties come in 3 colours
Silver
Gold
and black
Now if I only had those £1,800 times three.. Be careful, the price tag is not the only thing dangerous about wearing fabulous designer heels..

When in doubt, add more chocolate syrup
Why? Because today is Janet Leigh day! If any of you start saying Janet Leigh who? Then I will just shake my head and go away to die. Possibly in the shower. I've only watched af few of the things she's done though
- Little Women - with Liz Taylor
- Psycho which I actually bought on special edition DVD
- Murder She Wrote - yes she was in one episode with Dame Aggie.
- Family Law - she was in one episode of this as well. Liked that show.
On top of that, I can mention that she was in: The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Bye Bye Birdie and more recently Halloween H20: 20 years later.
She also guested these TV shows: Love Story, Columbo, Fantasy Island, two episodes of The Love Boat playing two different characters, The Twilight Zone and Touched By An Angel
All just to name a few of her 85 appearances.
She passed away this very day 6 years ago in Beverly Hills at the age of 77.
This very day many moons ago, was also the day my parents got married. Strangely enough only a couple of days before my grandfathers death. Shotgun wedding or..
The sounds get to me every time. Miss Leigh, you are greatly missed!
EDIT: I've also learned today that Piggy of Piggy and Tazzy has passed away. He too will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Tazzy and all their loved ones.

Bittersweet goodbye
It's been a good few years we've had, but it was time for me to say my final goodbyes.
We said hello
We cooked
We had drinks
We cleaned
We washed
We violated religious art
We clashed with our surroundings
We stepped back in time
Then after living together for years it was time to let you go.
Stains, mysterious smells and odd sounds aside, I've had a blast with you. Which is why, it's taken me this long to ship THE FREAKIN' GREEN ELF SHORTS off to their new wearer and competition winner Donn.
In case the memory escapes you, it's possible to relive most of the adventures I've had with THE FREAKIN' GREEN ELF SHORTS here.
The shorts are now safely (hopefully, as they aren't insured) on their way to Donn as seen below.
September 28, 2010 10:35 PM Ready for transport to Canada
September 29, 2010 10:53 AM Sent to Canada
In the meantime we can all enjoy a few deleted scenes from THE FREAKIN' GREEN ELF SHORTS stay with me.

Word is out
The thing is, I grew up close to a lake with a big forest around it. It was very idyllic.
Dividing the lake and the area where I grew up was a big road. Connected to the big road was a little truckstop which had one of those disgusting public restrooms and a little area with hedges and tables. On weekends in the summer it would be packed with families who had driven to the lake to swim and spend the day at the two beaches. At any other time of the year the truckstop would be almost abandoned.
I remember one time when I was around 8 or 9 years old and I had gone with our neighbours daughter to the lake to catch fish for their pond. As I'd had a massive arguement with my mother just minutes before, I'd gone against her will. Well, we went to the lake and started catching some zebra striped fish and suddenly the high heavens opened up, and within seconds we were drenched. As the thunder and lightning began, we retreated to the disgusting restroom at the truckstop. The girl told me stories of how these truckers would come and look for 'company' there whenever they drove by. I was shocked. I had never heard of anything like that before. A few years later it was confirmed when my evil brother told me the same thing.
I was intrigued and that's when I started walking the family dog. What my parents didn't know was that I never made it to the forest. I'd go to the truckstop and I'd tie up the dog to a tree and go into the disgusting restroom. Inside there were scribbles on the walls of the stalls and sometimes the light bulb would be broken. It was a strange feeling I'd get when I was in there.
Over the next couple of years, I'd go there at different times. In the evening, at night, at noon, and in the afternoon, but I never ever saw anyone in there. Ever. To be honest, I don't know what I would have done if there would have been someone there because I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for. Yet I wanted whatever it was.
The disappointment was devastating but now, looking back I'm happy that nobody ever came. Those things can really screw up a boys life, and my life was, and is screwed up enough already. But back then I..... I guess I was just looking for company and validation, something I wasn't getting anywhere else and I ended up settling for myself. So I started using my permanent markers writing something else on paper rather than stall doors.

'Petra down the rabbit hole
Through most of my childhood and up until only about 5 years ago I was very unlucky. I couldn't get a proper job, couldn't get an internship, was fairly poor and spent a summer as a janitor painting radiators in classrooms just to make a little bit of money so I could keep my flat. It wasn't a good time, and before that I had other stuff going on. Then about 5 years ago things changed. I remember the night before everything turned right like it was last night. Odd, as I tend to forget things easiely. Where am I going with this? I'm being vague, which is because the story isn't really about all my downs. That's for another time.
I was out of work at the time after having managed to not quit my internship and finished after two years with good recommendations and decent grades. Still, I'd not secured a job. That's where one of my friends came in. He asked me to give him an application and a CV so he could give it to his boss. They were looking for someone and even though the job was dull and only a temporary position it was better than nothing. Three days later I had been to an interview and was hired. I started four days later and they hired me permanently. Anyway the night after the interview I did something embarrassing and pathetic. I don't remember ever praying since I was around ten and was faking it with my parents. My promise was, that if I got that job I would give up ever falling in love. So far the large in charge has kept his promise. I've still got a job, and I haven't been in love.
My first job in the company was checking signatures and sending money to car dealerships. I was in that team for 2 years. Then I was encouraged to apply for another position doing almost the same thing but with more responsibilities in a company they owned. I applied and got the job. I was there for 1½ and then that company was absorbed and dissolved. My colleagues and I were divided and set in different teams and I was the remnants of the old company doing all those bits and approving car loans. I had no idea what I was doing and the pressure was getting to me. My former boss then came to me and offered me the job I have now in Copenhagen. We do boat loans and I take care of the administrative bits of that.
So for the past five years it's been more ups than anything. To be honest I couldn't have been happier about the direction my career has taken but I would have never guessed it would lead me here. Even my personal life hasn't been bad. I've got some great friends, albeit most of them are very far away now we do see each other and talk a lot.
Then in late November I was back at the main office on the day of the company Christmas party and we got an email. Someone from the debt recovery team quit her job to do something rather. I read the email thinking "good for her" and that was it. At the party that night I was placed opposite one of the girls from that team and she said she thought I should apply for the job. I said no, I was happy where I was and all that. She kept insisting but I still said no. I had no plans to change jobs.
Over the next week I thought more and more about my current job and life. My job wasn't really all that fantastic but I love living in Copenhagen. Yet I ended up calling the teamleader and once I started talking I couldn't stop. She said yes and no when appropriate and thanked me for the interest I'd shown. Later that day I wrote her an email applying for the job.
A week later the job description was officially posted within the company and I waited. And waited. And waited. Then I got an email from the department manager who wanted to let me know they hadn't forgotten me but they had to post the job officially within the bank corp.
He asked me to call him because he would like to talk to me about it. So I called him and we talked for a good half hour. His problem apart from having to post the job officially was that I'd gotten rave reviews by my current boss and he didn't think the team would last long without me as my colleagues are administravely challenged. They had to take that into account and because of this there was a chance I wouldn't get the job. At least he was honest, I thought, and braced myself for the worst.
Then one day I got an email from the guy asking me to call him because they were ready to talk. I was reminded of a salary clause I'd signed upon taking my current job (I hate clauses! but I love YOU Santa, I really do!) and that would come into effect if I took the job. Oh well, what's £600 before tax per month anyway. I said yes, we then had a meeting at the main office with all my colleagues, the news was announced and I was happy. So was my new team, which I'm joining on March 16.
I've got a new flat, cancelled the rental agreement on my current flat, my old doctor wants to take me back and everything is running smooth. My friend has invited me - all expenses paid to London to see the old hag Madonna pretend she's 20 still this summer and in August I'm going to America for 3 weeks with another friend (I'm paying my own way on that last trip).
Suddenly I'm finding myself on this wave and it feels good but it's also quite dangerous at the same time so I'm trying to look kool and graceful while I'm doing this knowing full well I could tumble under this any minute. Why it's going so well I don't know, maybe I've started trusting my instincts.
Because instinct is always right. Right?

Heartbeat rock
No, not that. I was rudely awoken by a loud noise and a some sort of shaking I thought. It felt like my bed was being pushed and pulled while the cabinet doors were clattering. My alarm said 6:18 am so when it stopped I albeit a little shaken (tee-hee!) went back to sleep thinking it might have all been some bizarre dream.
We don't have earthquakes in Denmark afterall. Really, I've been on this earth for 30 years and never heard such rubbish. After forcing myself to believe it was all just an odd dream I went to work. I didn't dare to mention it and I hadn't seen the news sites until one of the guys asked "so did you feel the earthquake?". My response was automatic, "you are kidding!". No, he was not kidding. So I checked the news and it was all over that we'd had an earthquake, although it came from somewhere in south Sweden.
I've never experienced anything like that before, it was my first earthquake because like I mentioned earlier the mere thought of earthquakes in Denmark is hilarious. Apparently it did happen back when I was 7 too but back then I lived in Jutland and it's not felt all the way over there but Copenhagen felt it this morning, that's for sure. It was rather bizarre and a wee bit scary when you don't know what it is. I live not that far from the Copenhagen airport and planes fly over the city when on their way to land so you never know. Well, I may not have experienced it before I turned 30 but I can definately check that one off the list of things I've experienced/done.
If you haven't already participated in my Christmas compo go do it now. This means you too Tim as you didn't actually pick a valid choice. Since we are on the subject of Christmas I will leave you with yet another youtube video. This one is an absolute Christmas classic of my generation (and those a wee bit older too - right IDV?)

Birthday boy: The Kylie effect
Then they did a little song.
After the singing and dancing, she had much to say about our dear Timothy. In fact she had presented an award with him in America a few years back.
Performed at the Brits together
Hung out with friend Dita Von Teese at a Dior fashion show
Also, very unknown fact about the Doctor Who Christmas Special Voyage of the Damned. Before the shooting of the show began David Tennant came down a mysterious disease and Russell Davies wasn't sure he could be ready in time. So naturally he called his old friend Tim. Because he had gotten some footage from the original Star Trek series and loved what he'd seen. Unfortunately for Tim David got well in time, and he was bumped. Although secretly Kylie was rooting for Tim. Here is one of the original promo photos for the Christmas Special.
As I don't like having my picture taken, and wasn't really in the mood for having one taken on the day. Which Kylie was a bit sad about, I promised to post an old photo of us together after a party.
It had become quite late and she had to put on a show in front of 15,000 eager Argentinian fans, we said our goodbyes. Before IDV and I left (we had to get him down to the docks before the ships left dock) Kylie had this message for Tim.

Sunjelly jelly motion
The question is, does she sing 'sunjelly jelly motion'?
Ok, she's not, but it sounds that way doesn't it? I find that really funny.

Ellen has a lot of chairs
Today I was trying to find her most recent interview on Craig Ferguson who did a fantastic interview with Kylie.
Anyway I couldn't find that. I did however find this interview she did on Letterman
And of course, she's always hilarious on Ellen.

You try wearing these heels
It's always at the most inopportune time. The night when your show gets filmed for TV and an upcoming DVD.
What a quick recovery!
Those shoes are hot! The segment isn't named but has been dubbed the "naughty manga section" which also explains the outfit and wig. I totally adore the shoes. They remind me a little of a pair that Janet Jackson wore in her video "Doesn't really matter" that she did for the Nutty Professor 2 - The Klumps movie. Yet they are much more fabulous.
The shoes don't stop here though. We've got a few more pairs for you. Well, two of them are boots. Still you think, "I want to be a cheerleader yet I don't want to wear those dreadful sneakers". What's a girl to do?
Yes, that's right. You add a 5 inch heel and keep the laces. Fabulous. Now you can dance your heart out. Looking fabulously sexy and not feel selfconscious about not been the tallest girl in the group. Nice.
Then comes the boots. I love boots if they have a nice heel on the. None of those wrinkly purple pleather boots with kitten heels. I struggle to say it's all or nothing. Because no heel makes you look like you are on your way out shovelling snow. So it's nice when you see a bright red silk thigh high boot with a big heel on someone who may be dancing at night but she surely isn't a lady of the night.
If you thought that was fabulous, how about these fabulous black ones?
Granted they aren't for everyone, or every outfit. Still with the right outfit, like the one in that photo you don't end up looking like you are selling your arse for a tenner.
Still be careful out there. Keep confident, find a style that works for you and work it. If you do end up falling, make a quick recovery. Then if someone stares, do the snicker and sneer at their Reeboks.

A certain something in the air....
I'm not sure what I think about the video, I think the outfits are dominating the video. Otherwise it's good. Certainly better than the stuff of the soon to turn 70 years old hag has produced in years.

Boys and their toys
It all started around 1pm when the window washer came to do our windows. That's not usually a high point of my life. The usual window washer is a 42 year old man who comes in, does a shoddy (at best) job doing the windows and leaves. It takes him a good half hour. Yesterday though, a man in his late twenties came. Tanned and his white t-shirt hanging from his backpocket.
I couldn't look him in the eyes, I just stared at his fantastic body. Thankfully I didn't drool. He just smiled when I finally got my eyes to meet his. After handing him a towel (I think I needed it more than he did) he went to work. Taking his time. At one point one of my colleagues who had gone to the storage room to pick up something came in asking me "why is there a half naked man by the window?". I just kept staring. "Huh?". He repeated the question and I shrugged "I don't know" (and I didn't care, as long as he kept standing there). After about 45 minutes he left. I mourned him for a good 30 minutes but he'll always be with me in spirit. That was the best work day ever, but the day wasn't over.
Around 2.30pm I got a call on my mobile telling me that there was a black 16GB iPhone waiting for me in the Telia shop at the Copenhagen Central Station. I almost cried, that's how happy I was. So at 4.30pm I picked it up. Of course I had to go through all this contract nonsense with them and having my current phone number transferred to Telia from 3. Unfortunately they won't release my phone number for another 30 days as 3 are mean like that. So Telia gave me a temporary number until the end of this month. Such big ado for nothing. My journey home felt like it took forever.
I was pretty taken by the sheer elegance of it.
Now let's open it up Pandora and see what's inside your box.
My very own iPhone.
Come on Pandora, do your worst.
Let's look beyond the surface Pandora. Remove that plastic.
It also comes with a nice black iPhone cloth, two glow in the dark stickers (Apples of course) and a needle. I named the needle the space needle. I don't know why, but somehow it just seemed appropriate. The needle is for opening up the sim card tray.
The excitement was massive at this point, so I threw Pandora out of the window.
So this is it! With my background photo and everything. It's on standby obviously showing that I just took the photo a few minutes ago rather than yesterday when I had just opened the box.
You see, I was too busy making it my own, and having issues with synchronising it with MS Outlook. Somehow it wasn't keen on taking in my contacts and still doesn't like one of my email accounts.
I wonder why, how do you get ringtones for it? On my old mobile I could use mp3 files as ringtones. It doesn't appear as if I can do that on this new wonder.
Now look at my menu. Very nice if I must say so myself. I even installed the Phonesaber, Facebook, Jawbreaker, Diamond something (a game that looks a lot like Bejewelled) and Super Monkey Balls (which I completely suck at). I also downloaded the new download only Kylie single "The One" - fantastic Freemasons remix. It's wicked!
I love the iPhone. I don't think I need anything else in the whole wide world. Everything is right there at my fingertips. Plus it's like a visual orgasm. So gorgeous.
There are a few things I haven't worked out yet. Like how to actually call and talk to people. Is there a mic in the headset in the box? I felt a bit like a moron and my friends say there is lots of echo.
Hmmm. I guess someone will have to teach me about these things Tim.
But I'm in love (I hope mr. complicated won't be too jealous).

Hot and fabulous
I've been waiting to go since the KYLIEX2008 tour was announced and I'd even considered going to abroad to see it if she didn't bring it to Denmark. However she did, and right into my backyard or well let's say a couple of thousand blocks down the road from where I live. So after something that was such a bit thing one can't help but wonder. So now, what? It's over, and my schedule doesn't have other things equally fabulous in it for a long time. Going to the movies alone to watch The Indiana Jones movie or even Sex & the City somehow doesn't quite scream glamorous. It's so bad in fact that I'm considering getting any ticket available for one of her other shows. Possibly a UK date. Yes it was.
The doors opened at 6pm and obviously we were late but thankfully they hadn't openend the doors yet and even with the huuuuuge line in front of the venue it didn't take too long to get in.
But there we stood in line. Waiting. In the sweltering heat. Sun baking on my lily-white (or ghostly, but the other sounds better) skin. In the middle of the road actually, hoping no cars would come before we'd moved on. Not caring so much about the annoying cunts behind us.
After we got in (note to self: Getting felt up by an attractive security guy is not at all too unpleasant - go to more concerts) we headed for the drinks stand as it was so hot. We got water, lots of water. Then headed over to look at the merchandise of which we bought nothing. I have ordered mine online as I didn't want to be lugging it around during the concert. I do however regret not buying something. A T-shirt or something to say, "I bought this at the Kylie concert". Anyway, not much to do about that now. Online they sold fans, and if they had sold those at the venue they could have made a killing. It was hotter than a bath house sauna, and that's before they closed the doors. We headed off to the stage to get a good spot. Front and center pretty close. Not first row but it was good enough for us (that way we could avoid getting on those awful cameras projecting the crowd on the big screens. So we waited looking at this.
Endlessly facinating. The people behind us were screaming "I love Kylie" and waving their glowsticks around from around 7 but had calmed down by 8.30 when the show started.
The show was awesome. Kylie was on her toes. In an absolutely fantastic mood dancing and singing and talking to the crowd. She even spoke a bit of Danish which is a cheap way to get in touch with your audience but with a personality and charm richer than the best of Champagnes it came off quite natural. She talked, and really connected with her audience. But wouldn't you if actual royalty was present.
Yes I was there, and for me she'd naturally do anything, but our crown prince and his Australian wife were there too. In the opposite end of the poshness scale was those 30 something year old queens partying way past their prime in T-shirts and jeans they obviously had trouble fitting into 5 years ago. Last night they couldn't even zip up their pants properly and the seams on their dingy T-shirts were stretched to full capacity and could possibly burst any second. Yet they still danced around like it was 1989. Bless.
My camera phone didn't do well in the venue so I only have a couple of photos but my mate took some photos that will give a hint of what it was like. Still if you find yourself able, go see her show. It's hot and fabulous. Maybe in your case mostly fabulous.
She ended the 2½ hour show (including a fifteen minute break) with an eXtra encore of I Should Be So Lucky which she does not do every night. It's only done on a very good day and we were a loud, rowdy and dancy crowd.
Thanks Min! Can't wait to see you again soon.
