It's never too late, as someone very fabulous once sang, so while it's still the divine mr. IDV's birthday we here at SayHey would like to send him our salutations and wishes for a fabulous year. To celebrate, we asked the fabulous Miss K. to do a couple of songs, especially for him (and you)
and while we would have preferred some nu-di-ty from him over at Miss MJs we will let it slide, this time.
Now everyone put your hands up for IDV
Happy birthday darling!

Happy Birthday Miss Scarlet
We've got to remember that love is love is love is love is love. Which is why team Sayhey is spreading some love here today. Be loud, be proud and be happy.
Today we are especially happy for Miss Scarlet who is celebrating her 29th birthday, and since there's no birthday without a little song, I caught up with my good friend Kylie and she sends this message to Miss Scarlet and the rest of us.
Or, if you prefer this..
PS. Don't forget to check out my previous post in which you will be introduced to the inner workings of my mind and that of those involved in the making of the movie Knight & Day.

Kool & the Gang
I finally managed to install The Sims 3 on my trusty new MacBook last night. One of the most entertaining things about the game, is creating the Sims that you later play with. Yes, I love playing the charaters of course, but half the fun is creating Sims and styling them later and all that girlie stuff. Well, it IS a girlie game afterall.
Now with the risk of getting shunned from the Coven and Roses having me assasinated or worse, I have decided to release the photos exclusively to you, my dear readers. Here goes
Obviously I've taken some liberties, creative calls and had a bit of fun doing them. Please don't be offended. With Miss Scarlet I was sort of going for a Marilyn vibe but she ended up looking a little like Amanda Lepore. Sorry.

Bring it on
As the first month of 2011 is rapidly coming to a close, and the only thing worth mentioning (except of course chatting up Roses on facebook and receiving a present from her because we love her here on Sayhey!) was that last week I got a text from the good people at MasterCard telling me to call them.
I did of course do that immediately, and they told me that someone had used it the night before - twice - charging a total of 3505 quid on IT goods. Outragious! The good people at MasterCard told me not to worry about it, and that they had taken care of it, and I wouldn't be charged. They obviously cancelled the card and are sending me a new one.
In case you are reading this, you, yes you - the one who used my card details - F*cker they are coming for you! Oh, and burn in hell.
With that out of the way, we now look forward to a new month and so far February looks like it'll be the most eventful month of the year. Doesn't say much does it, with two events. There are of course other plans in the pipeline for later this year which I of course will let you in on sometime soon.
The first event is on February 19 where I will take part in the opening night of Kylie's new world tour Aphrodite Les Folies 2011 (which takes name and inspiration from Ziegfeld Follies). Of course I'll be right in the middle of things. Fronrow and centre in the Splash Zone.

Apparently there'll be what the press release calls 4D visuals. I assume it'll be something like the Ralph Lauren fashion show
The water features in Kylie's show Aphrodite Les Folies 2011 are designed by the same people who do the Bellagio fountain water works in Las Vegas.
So, my pretties I do hope you'll get a chance to go. Miss K may be coming by a venue near you. For the unlucky US and Canadiennes out there - you'll be able to see a scaled down version of the show. Tour info can be found here. A tour not to be missed.
Australian dates to be announced.
The second event of February is the following where the Oscars - The Academy Awards take place live at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. Again this year, it promises to be a show with glitz and glam. Of hits and misses and another year where Jim Carrey and Russell Crowe don't stand a chance in hell to win an Oscar. Good times!
A Danish movie is yet again nominated for an Oscar Hævnen - In a Better World in the category Best Foreign Language Film. It has already won a Golden Globe which of course Ricky Gervais mentioned (he was right) was the category that nobody cares about. I of course have no desire to watch the movie but everyone's raving about it.
I LOVE the Oscars. They've always meant something to me, and they still do. It used to be exclusively about the outfits and speeches but over the years I've become more and more interested in the movies we celebrate. It would be nice to have watched at least one of the movies before the show. Just to know what all the fuss was about. For instance the movie which was nominated for the most Oscars, The King's Speech. A whopping 12 nominations, and yet it's not coming to our cinemas until April.
To be honest I feel cheated. I watched a couple of the movies. Inception and Harry Potter 7 part 1. That's all, and yes Black Swan and The Social Network have been shown here and I'm now ruining my arguement. Still I find that every year, movies that haven't seen the light of day here due to distributors stalling, are honoured at the Oscars. They should be honoured because they are some of the best movies out there, yet it would be nice to be able to sit there on Oscar night thinking that out of the 10 (seems excessive doesn't it?) movies nominated for Best Picture you really thought X should have won instead of Y. For me, so far, I'll be thinking back to Inception and not being able to compare it to any of the other nominated movies.
On the subject of nominations for Best Picture, yet still going a little off on a rant when I should be wrapping this up. Well, 10 nominations for Best Picture? It seems a bit excessive. Is that a flexible category? If the movies stink next year, will there only be 3 nominations or will they have to nominate something like The Green Hornet 3D?
Bleugh!
If you have 11 minutes to spare, here is a nice little Australian short film in which Kylie goes beserk. I know, speaking of Best Picture and all that..

When in doubt, add more chocolate syrup
The always wonderful Tara has published the schedule for October here and you should definately check it out. Check.It.Out.
Why? Because today is Janet Leigh day! If any of you start saying Janet Leigh who? Then I will just shake my head and go away to die. Possibly in the shower. I've only watched af few of the things she's done though
- Little Women - with Liz Taylor
- Psycho which I actually bought on special edition DVD
- Murder She Wrote - yes she was in one episode with Dame Aggie.
- Family Law - she was in one episode of this as well. Liked that show.
On top of that, I can mention that she was in: The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Bye Bye Birdie and more recently Halloween H20: 20 years later.
She also guested these TV shows: Love Story, Columbo, Fantasy Island, two episodes of The Love Boat playing two different characters, The Twilight Zone and Touched By An Angel
All just to name a few of her 85 appearances.
She passed away this very day 6 years ago in Beverly Hills at the age of 77.
This very day many moons ago, was also the day my parents got married. Strangely enough only a couple of days before my grandfathers death. Shotgun wedding or..
The sounds get to me every time. Miss Leigh, you are greatly missed!
EDIT: I've also learned today that Piggy of Piggy and Tazzy has passed away. He too will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Tazzy and all their loved ones.

Special price for you my friend
This is a two for the price of one, just for you my pretties. As I sit here in this awful heat with my lemon drop feeling very Socks in the City with my laptop. It would have been much more authentic had it not been for one of those retarded American Pie movies (I think this is number 5) on TV. I think I'll put on some Sex & the City. That will take this from crass to class.
Right where were we, and where did my lemon drop go?
This is one of those dreadful meme posts. First one comes from facebook where a certain Mr. Tim tagged me. So without further ado, I give you
A-Z of me
You've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with the ABC's of YOU.
A - Age: 29 give or take a couple of years (more give than take though, I'm afraid)
B - Bed size: A double.
C - Chore you hate: Cleaning and tidying up. You see, I am missing that gene. It skipped a generation, as my mother is a complete neat freak.
D - Dog's name: I don't have a dog. Growing up my evil bro had a dachshund called Pjevs. He hated me. The dog, although I'm thinking the same went for my evil bro.
E - Essential start your day item: Water, water, water. That and a dab or two of Inverse by Kylie Minogue
F - Favorite color(s): I love red. Red, black and silver. But I really like most happy bright colours except for yellow and orange.
G - Gold or Silver: Silver.
H - Height: Pretty average (I hate that word) really.
I - Instruments you play: I don't play any instruments. I hated everyone at school, but I did sign up for guitar lessons however too few people signed up for it and nothing came of it. Would like to be able to play the piano though.
J - Job title: According to the online dictionary, I'm a trained Office Clerk. What I do now, is make sure people keep up their car payments and if they don't, I take their cars. I love my job!
K - Kid(s): Ewww. Never!
L - Living arrangements: A rented top floor 74 sq meter flat.
M - Mom's name: Ida
N - Nicknames: A colleague of mine called me Pistol Pete in an email last week, and on here people call me 'Petra and CyberPoof. Personally I prefer Pete.
O - Overnight hospital stay other than birth: I've never (knock wood) spent the night in the hospital. Well except for when I was delivered (by a storck obviously)
P - Pet Peeve: Knuckle cracking, people who wear their trousers down their ankles, socks in sandals, Crocs, Uggs, ankle socks in stilettos, ballerina slippers
Q - Quote from a movie: "No wire hangers, ever!" Faye Dunaway in Mommy Dearest (1981)
R - Right or left handed: Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosy (I learned that from Luke on Gilmore Girls)
S - Siblings: Jens
T - Time you wake up: Ideally around 7am but I go in early these days, so it's more like 6.
U - Underwear: Preferably Dolce & Gabbana (of late I do appreciate Ralph Lauren and I'm quite ashamed about that as I don't trust American designers) but as my pocketbook is a little slim these days Sloggi will have to do.
V - Vegetable you dislike: Is a salad a vegetable? Because I truely HATE Ruccola with a passion. Whoever made that must be in liege with the devil. I also dislike broccoli and brussle sprouts.
W - Workout style: As little and for as short a time as possible.
X - X-rays you've had: I've had a few of my teeth, and my ankles (sprained them a lot when I was a kid - clutz that's me hi!) and when I broke my arm when I was 4. I don't remember breaking my arm, but I've seen the photos.
Y - Yesterday's best moment: Watching Glee or making and eating a wonderful chocolate cake without flour. The chocolate cake won out.
Z - Zoo favorite: I've been to quite a few of those. When I was in San Diego Zoo last year I thought I'd be going gaga for the Panda Bears but they were quite snooty and off putting. My favorite was the Polar Bear. I tell you, one look at one of those and all the energy I was lacking was restored. Loved it! The lion at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was pretty cute too.
Now, for the bonus feature. The meme from IDV who wants to know these 10 things about me.
1. What's your earliest memory?
The other day I had a flash memory of my father reading to me. I don't know how old I was at the moment, but I must have been younger than 5.
2. What was the last thing you ate?
San Mazano tomatos
3. Would you support a comeback by Steps?
Yes, probably. I did welcome the comeback of Bananarama
Up until I heard their stuff, that is.
4. What is your dream car?

5. How tall are you?
See my answer in the ABC above.
6. Margaret Thatcher vs Queen Elizabeth II: Who would win and why/how?
That's difficult isn't it. They are both iron lizzers uh, I mean ladies. Obviously. Probably Liz though, because she's got the scepter to hit people with and if they are too far away she'll just throw the orb. Plus, she met Gaga.

7. Mama Cass died choking on a sandwich. What sandwich filling would you happily choke on?
Roastbeef

8. Has a pick-up line ever worked for you? If so, what was it? If not, what was the worst reaction?
Not unless "hi" etc. are pick-up lines. I did come up with some funny pun once, and the guy just turned around and walked away. I was relieved.
9. You find yourself inexplicably cloned, barely wearing something sexy, and gagging for it. You would, wouldn't you?! Just out of curiosity, or maybe for some other reason?
What kind of question is that!?! Oh, my god! I wouldn't no. We wouldn't be compatible.
10. How did you find this [IDVs] blog? Go on, indulge me!
It's been soooo many years since, but probably through Glitter For Brains? Then it was either IDV or Lee who introduced me to Tims blog.

The Adventures of Tim: Too big to fit in here
Tim of Sparky Malarkey asked us to give him a little action. So naturally I went to work on him. Taking my time, working my way up his sides, taking my time going on the pecks and then finally making my way slowly up his inner thighs.
Of his cut out Actionless paper doll of course.
Just to clarify, I love the song, not Tim, and now I'm digging a big hole and I should just delete the youtube song but it's too good for that. So deal with it.

Naturally I upgraded Tiny Actionless Tim and now he was ready for all sorts of action. So, naturally I took Tiny Tim along when I went out to find and buy my new TV. I'd already gone to two shops after work on my own because Tim was home tidying up his own mess, but on Friday I took him along to The Sony Center for a final glance. The salesman, a man in his late fourties who first showed us a 50 inch TV which was too big. It made me think of this
and couldn't concentrate on whatever the man was saying until the song had played out in full. Then he went on to talk about other TVs until he finally made it to my future TV. It was just there, black, sleek and fabulous. I actually had to stop myself from doing the Auto- and Boatshow glamourwhore demonstrations of sort of leaning on it and stroking it gently for no one in particular. It's just that pretty!
Yesterday I went there with more reinforcements to collect the TV and transport it back to my flat. This is when I really needed Tims help. Let me just say, once he'd finished fooling around with my DVDs

and that took some time indeed

I set him to work on the TV table I bought last weekend. Because really, Tim wanted action so action was what he was getting.

Tim seemed a little outraged at the large package, but I thought he might as well get used to that sort of thing - living with me and all.

It didn't look like Tim seemed confident with the manual but I told him to get to it.

I helped Tim with some of the hard work but this was his project.

Tim was very surprised to be almost done with now. All it needed was metal things it was supposed to stand on - and fitting the glass plate on top.

With the metal things securely fastened, I helped turning it around and tried to fit on the glass plate. It didn't fit of course, so we had to take the thing apart again and unscrewing bits to loosen one of the side blocks. With the glass plate fitting, again we put the DVD player etc. on it.

It was hard work, but someone had to do it, and so I was thrilled to give Tim a bit of action. Finally it was time to unpack the TV and set it up. This bit was a little less work for Tim, and more for me.

Quite frankly I could have used a little more help doing the last bits but Tim was satisfied being the TV show whore and posing for you all. Bless him!
Thank you Tim, and I'm sure we'll have more fun in the future.
For all those of you, interested in what TV I actually got: Sony KDL40HX700AEP and I'm loving it.

Not so live blogging: Golden Globes 2010
The all too fabulous Dinah did a great live blogging post on the Golden Globes this year. So, you might say it's already been covered - and fabulously so - and why bother. The reason why I've decided to do it as well, is that I'm thinking I might have a different take on the show. Plus I love, love, love award shows. If all the award shows were transmitted live on Danish tv, I'd be up at all hours of the night watching them all. Champagne in hand of course, and the devil may care attitude towards perhaps being positively knackered at work the next morning. Of course they are not, so it's just one day off I must plan in advance. For the Oscars.
This, however is about the Golden Globes. Let the games begin.
This, however is about the Golden Globes. Let the games begin.
- Show opens, and Ricky Gervais comes out all sweaty looking. They should have put ventilation in that suit of his. Is he nervous or constipated?
- The stage is all salmon coloured with a bit of silver glitter. It looks like something the Golden Girls would have picked out.
- Cosmetic surgery jokes, that's very original isn't it? No?
- Morgan Freeman looks bored at penis jokes. Either they really weren't funny, or he's forgotten his hearing aid. He's gotten really old though, hasn't he. Wow.
- The camera work is awful, oh there was Sandra Bullock! She is pretty.
- Oh, Ricky Gervais drinks beer? On screen? Is that allowed in the US?
- Nicole Kidman is missing a nipple, and George Clooney looks so good. Love him.
- Massive emerald ear rings on Julianne Moore. Love her, she's so pretty.
- Note to all heavy women out there: If you are heavy, you shouldn't wear a coursage dress. You'll look whale'ish
- Awww. Mo'Nique makes me cry.
- Matthew Fox has gotten a lot less foxy. Such a bad wig on him.
- Toni Collette won wearing a very sparkly dress. She's come a long way since Muriel's Wedding
- Uh, Lauren Graham in pink. We love her!
- Is Lost still on? Wow.
- Neil Patrick Harris looks cute.
- Fergie looks more alien that ever, and Josh Duhamel not as sexy as he used to. She must have sucked all the life force and beauty out of him. Greedy bitch.
- The man accepting the Golden Globe for UP was so happy. Loved that.
- Kate Hudson annoys me. She's presenting the movie Nine. Her dress is nice, but shouldn't have been white. It IS a wedding dress. She's off to Vegas after the show.
- Ricky Gervais is back. Go away.
- Willian H. Macy looks so old. His wife Felicity Huffman looks like she could be his daughter. She looks pretty.
- Tom Hanks looks fat and ugly. What happened there? I think it might have been The Polar Express?
- Unless Michael C. Hall is sick, he should take off that hat. It's not appropriate.
- January Jones...What kind of name is that?
- We like The Good Wife. She's pretty. Not sure I like the dress though.
- Calista Flockhart still weighs 10 pounds. Someone should force feed her lard.
- Harrison Ford sounds so bored. Either that, or he's on whatever Anna Nicole was on.
- Cher looks fairly well for her age. Cosmetic surgery much?
- It's been a while since we've seen Jake Gyllenhall hasn't it?
- I don't like Sir Paul McCartney. I really don't.
- I think it's confirmed. Amy Adams is preggo.
- Glittery loofa alarm! Drew Barrymore, Liberace called. He want's his loofas back.
- Tom Hanks joke tanked. That was funny, not his joke, the joke tanking.
- Colin Farrell still looks cute.
- Julia Robers and her massive lips - hey Joools, Agelina called she wants her lips back! looks fairly bland with her blonde hair.
- Meryl Streep won for Julie & Julia. I want to watch that. I actually planned to watch it in LA but I couldn't make it because I had planned to meet with Dullface at a specific time.
- Meryl is one classy lady, but shut up about the politics and charity thing.
- Sandra Bullock looked like she was crying during that speech. I don't think it was because she lost though.
- Another classy lady is Helen Mirren. She's so pretty.
- When introducing Precious they didn't mention Mariah Carey. That was nice.
- What was The Edge from U2 doing at the Golden Globes?
- Morgan Freeman doesn't care about any of it. He's just sitting there looking bored. Drinking.
- I've already commented on Drew Barrymores dress but what was she thinking. I like her hair though.
- Cameron Diaz is so overrated.
- Just go away Ricky Gervais
- Rachel from Friends and that bloke from 300 are beautiful. Gerald Butler is so hot.
- What happened to Thomas Jane? He used to be so hot!
- Maggie Gyllenhall sounds absurd. Like a moron really. Her message about saving Haiti was more relevant.
- I heard that Brad Pitt and Agelina Jolie weren't attending because they weren't nominated.
- Oh, oh Miss Sophia Loren. All bow down and kiss her shoes. She's the movie star goddess. I love that they all look so excited about her being there. That's the way it should be bitches!
- There's still 50 minutes left and I'm slowly losing interest now. The show Mad Men just won. Hoooray for them!
- Taylor Lautnier or something is so handsome, but I couldn't possibly say that because he's not old enough. So ew ew ew.
- Thomas Jane really didn't age well. Such a shame.
- Chloe Serviette, more like. Lovely collection of napkins you are wearing. She's annoying.
- Ricky Gervais has another sip of his beer.
- Halle Berry is coming out of her dress. It's fairly vulgar. Woody Harrelson looks cute. Who would have thought.
- Why do people find Leonardo DiCaprio attractive? His hair style is ugly.
- Marty Scorsese is very charismastic. Was he in the movie UP?
- Robert Downey Jr. is chewing gum during Martys speech. Looked funny.
- Jodie Foster looks quite good. I wonder how much work she's had done.
- Mel Gibson looks quite good. I can almost pretend to forget about his scandalous year last year.
- Funny thing, James Cameron won for Avatar. I've heard that it doesn't have a lot of story in it. He has to pee.
- Why are the tables so close together. It's very unpractical.
- I suppose I have to watch Glee at some point. There is a Danish version, I think. It looked like the same kind of thing, but the Danish one sucked.
- Bradley Cooper is HOT! I would marry him.
- I still can't believe The Hangover won. It was a great movie, but it wasn't THAT good. I'd have thought it would have been one of the Meryl Streep movies. I heard that Nine wasn't that good. I want to watch Nine though.
- Mickey Rourke is butt ugly! I can't believe it, he looks almost worse than at the Oscars last year. I will always remember 9½ weeks.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger, botox much?
- Emily Blunt is so pretty.
- Yay! Sandra Bullock! I love her speech, it was so lovely.
- I watched Sherlock Holmes last night. I thought I'd be crushing on Robert Downey Jr. but I was much surprised to be in love with Jude Law.
- I wonder if Guy Richie was there, but I'm thanking the lord that Madge isn't there.
- Kate Winslet looks great.
- I love that we just saw Sophia Loren eating. It sends such a strong message to all the girls out there, and Calista Flockhart.
- Julia Roberts is giving away the final award of the evening. She's really annoying, and the dress is not pretty. She's also doing the botox thing.
- Avatar won. It surprises me a little. Well, it didn't because I knew it already but in general it's a surprise to me. Mostly because although I've heard it's a great movie, I've also heard that the story is weak. Personally I hope it's not the case, because if they give a movie the best movie award because of special effects, that's when it's really going down the drain.
- Did James Cameron get to pee? I can't help but wonder.
- Oh he did get to pee.
- His hair is awful.
- Ricky Gervais says goodnight
- Now I feel a little abandoned. I'm no longer surrounded by big Hollywood stars.

The Freakin' Green Elf Shorts goes to.....
This is it isn't it? The moment we've all been waiting for - and for far too long. After many a sleepless night and far too many tantrums the winner of
has been found. All your submissions were printed out, divided into piles and from there, started to eliminate until I was forced to realise it was even harder than I thought. You were all brilliant, and if I could I'd send The Shorts to all of you, but I can't. A winner must be found, and so I ventured on. As you were all brilliant I don't want to single out some of you and not mention others (who were equally brilliant) but to stretch this post for all it's worth, I have to.
There were the straight (tee-hee!) to the point captions like this one
mago: Two minutes.
There were the long stories like this one
Tatas: One day Little Cyberpete got her "monthly bleeding" for the first time in her life. Having failed to understand what was going on and being really frightened, she decided to share her trouble with little Johnny.
Having found Johnny she told and showed him what her problem was.
Johnny's face grew serious and he said, "You know, I'm not a doctor, but it looks like someone just ripped your balls off!"
The fashion critic (everyone's a critic eh? *eye roll* Tee-hee!)
Ponita: Looking down, CyberPete realized the havoc created by his glittery period had thrown his fashion sense for a total loop. What could he have been thinking.... pairing his lovely pink pumps with those Freakin' Green Elf Shorts! The red waistband totally clashed... he should have worn his ruby pumps instead.
The musical ones (pinching some Kylie, that's some coincident yeah?)
Donn Coppens:
And did I forget to mention,
that I found a new infection,
And it leaks blue SEE!
I'm spinning around...
The movie references
sEa: CyberPete sighs with great relief realizing that she will not have to confess her clandestine affair with Legolas (or was it Will Farrell) to the Elven High Council."
The imposters (I would love to see Tim win though)
Tim 'I really covet those 'Shorts' Leng: 'Petra looked down in horror at the discarded undergarments he'd stepped in. This was the last time he was having that unruly pixie-of-pop, Kylie, to stay.
The anonymous (I know who you are bitch!)
Anonymous: "All that glitters is not gold, but where that came from it's hideously old"
*sips a wee sip of Jamesons*
The ones who didn't want to enter the compo (aww.....)
eroswings: The Elf critic review of the Mariah Carey movie, Glitter!
Tim: It quickly became apparent that all that glitters really IS NOT gold.
Oh my! These are brilliant. Does it get any better than this? Well.... here are the contenders for
The first 9 entries are in no particular order as they deserve to be recognised for being fabulous and (some of the 10 most brilliant entries)
mago: Two minutes.
Tara: Only CyberPete knew where the stolen diamonds were really hidden.
savannah: "well, where DID you think angel dust came from, darling?"
INNER VOICES: "what would you do for a klondike bar?"
mutleythedog: What does the loo roll look like I wonder?
FirstNations: I was wearing them. sorry *kicks pumps off and staggers away*"I must be geting on in years," thought cyberpete as he gazed sadly down at the evidence "...all I did was sneeze."
Random Chick: "Miley Cyrus finally enters puberty."
Famulus: Euw, I'm not snorting that!
Jorge Porge: "I would have thought that elfs used mini pads"
breakerslion: "Moments the Sisterhood try not to think about."
Oh gosh! Weren't they brilliant?!? I bet you are wondering what could possibly top that, but one person kept going and going and going.... You get the point, and they all had me in stitches (except the sober tran caption. I recent being called sober!). That person was none other than our very own Homo Erec...sorry,
However, this is not it though. I have one more thing to pass out, I have something special for someone very special who didn't participate. You wonder who and what it is.
T-Birdy come and claim your prize! - and because it's your lucky day, I'll throw in a little something extra.

All dressed up and nowhere to go
I'm not a big fan of New Years eve and especially not the day after. To me, today is means then end of Christmas and I was just getting really into the spirit of it. Another thing is having to look back at the past year. Everyone's doing the 2008 in review. Telling us what was good and what was bad. Personally I love reading those blogposts, watching the countdowns on TV and even the political and economy analysts telling us what's happened during 2008.
As I was doing the dishes earlier today I started thinking about what my final post of the year would be about. My mind went everywhere as usual and if I'd been in front of the keyboard at the time it would have ended up with me rambling on about the Queens speech and being single. How I got from annual reviews to that is a mystery even to me. However I did finally come up with something worth reading - I hope.
To me New Years has never been about going out partying and for the life of me, I have no clue why. Honestly I don't think I've ever been out dancing and partying on New Years. When I was kid it was about decorating my room for New Years, the Queens New Years speech, dinner, TV and a sip of Champagne at midnight before getting whisked off to bed.
As I got a little older I was allowed out with some of the people from school but I didn't really want to. They'd go around the neighborhood playing with firework and do all sorts of stuff to the houses where no one was home. Everything from spraying the windows with shaving cream, putting scotch tape over the keyholes to hanging the trashcan or Christmas tree up the flagpole. I wasn't that kind of boy. Not that I was above the tricks, they were alright, I just didn't like the fireworks. I mean, the big ones are pretty but most of the fireworks they'd throw around just made loud bangs or fizzled around on the ground for a bit. Besides, back then it was always cold on New Years.
I'd much rather be home watching TV all night. You see, unlike these days, there was always something worth watching on New Years eve. I guess this was one more reason why the kids at school thought I was strange. Then I didn't care that much, I didn't like any of them anyway.
If I wasn't watching TV, I was dancing around in my room. Pretending I was one of the disco divas. Boy, did I put on a show. Then after my parents had gone to bed I'd sneak into the living room and watch the concert shows that were on. Everything from the shows from the Folies Bergère in Paris, to the Boney M concerts. I loved it. Only to wake up the next morning very tired with nothing on TV but downhill skiing. If that's not a depressing way to start the new year I don't know what is.
These days I'm just celebrating New Years alone again. I don't want to go anywhere and this day has become a night like the the night of the Academy Awards. A night where I stay in, dress up and enjoy some of the finer things in life. Good food, good wine, good Champagne and good movies until the show starts. The show on this particular day being the fireworks over Copenhagen. Somehow all this doesn't scream '2008 is almost over, let's disco' to me.

The results are in
Today is the results of my Christmas competition from the other day. You were given the task of picking what my latest purchase from Amazon was and you had options A to I. Not exactly easy, but this is how you all answered...
A) The book "Wyrd Sisters" by Terry Pratchett.
Voted on by Bingowings
B) The DVD "The Vicar of Dibley" The Ultimate Collection.
Voted on by Miss MJ
C) The Nintendo Wii game "Dancing Stage Hottest Party" including a dance mat.
D) The concert DVD "Tangled Up" by Girls Aloud.
Voted on by IDV
E) The concert DVD "KYLIEX2008"
Voted on by Ponita
F) The CD "X Tour Edition" by Kylie
Voted on by Miss Scarlet
G) The Nintendo Wii game "High School Musical 3 DANCE"
Voted on by Beastie
H) The DVD "The complete fourth series of Doctor Who"
I) The DVD "A Carol Christmas" starring Bubba Shatner and Tori Spelling
Voted on by Miss KAZ and Miss Daisy
Then out of the blue comes Londons finest Tim and says he "I'm going to say the Wii game, because even though I hate High School Musical I'm hoping that if I win you'll throw a Wii in too." Does that mean you pick the High School Musical Wii game? Because there were two Wii games.
First of all I'm not throwing in a Wii. I've only got one of those but I will recommend everyone to go buy one because they are great. Please do, then we can play Mario Kart against each other.
All the items mentioned are things I have or want and if we begin from the top.
A) I bought the book in August I think and it's not the last thing I bought from them. Sorry Bingowings
B) I love the Vicar of Dibley you must watch that. However I don't own this gem. Sorry Miss MJ
D) I bought the Girls Aloud Greatest Hits Tour when it came out but unfortunately I haven't bought the Tangled Up tour yet. Sorry IDV
E) Wow Ponita really close! I pre-ordered that one off HMV.com and it arrived a little over a week ago.
F) Wow Miss Scarlet you were also really close. I pre-ordered this off HMV.com at the same time as the Kylie X tour DVD.
G) Oh, Beastie. You were *so* close! Yet so far away mate. No Christmas present from me to you, sorry.
I) Finally Miss KAZ and Miss Daisy voted for the camptastic Christmas DVD starring Tori Bighead Spelling and Bubba Shatner. Unfortunately that's not it either.
So what now? Which one was it then? C or H? Was it the Wii dance game including the dance mat or the Doctor Who season 4 DVD?
It wasn't the Doctor Who DVD. It could have been, but I'm holding off until next year when the price goes below £45.
Do you all remember Tims very cryptic answer? Well he was somewhat right because it was a Wii game. It was
Since Tim was vague enough to not actually specify which Wii game it was and only stated that he hated High School Musical, I'm rewarding

Studs n' style
Today I was cordially invited to MJs First Annual Office Christmas Party tomorrow. It's a bit short notice if you ask me. This proves to be quite the challenge because I'd just sent back most of my free couture dresses. Still, I had kept a few Chanel, Gucci, Givenchy and Julien McDonald creations. As we all know the shoes always pick the dress. If you've found the shoes you want to wear you will always find a dress to match. So off I went down the Copenhagen high street (as I couldn't go drool at the windows in Old Church Street in London).
I walked past Louis Vuitton, Hermes and then made a quick stop at Gucci. They usually have something to offer, be that a handbag or a pair of shoes. Today it was all studs and not in the good way.
And as an open shoe. The studs were bothering me though, so I was just about to move up the street to Illum when I spotted these.
Those were quite promising to be honest. Surely if there would be any encounters from that orange loving creature I'd be able to defend myself. Having put the last pair on my list of possibilities I spotted an oddity in the corner.
They aren't pretty but they are easy to run in and look relatively warm for the Canadian climate. For all I know MJ will have us running around in her stables. The problem is, I couldn't possibly find anything that would go with these. Surely they would be something to talk about. Not because they are pretty though.
Off I went to Illum one of the most exclusive department stores in Denmark, if not THE most. I headed off to the shoe department and started browsing. A salesminion came and asked me what I was looking for. For a Canadian climate? She pointed me towards the Jimmy Choos.
Jimmy Choo seemed like so many other designer labels to be weather appropriate which is nice, but not really a concern of mine. Somehow not freezing is not a concern when you are wearing a flat soled shoe with a spike heel on an icy surface. Still a valid choice.
The Stuart Weitzman section was limited but I did spot another few weather appropriate contenders.
The salesminion was very concerned about the weather in Canada and mentioned how these had steel inforcement if I ran into any difficulties. Then I remembered The Orange Slut and suddenly they were in the running. You know, just to be on the safe side.
She also showed me these but by then I'd lost all interest in her and her weather proofing my feet so I told her I'd look around on my own. It took a while for it to sink in as she was used to having upper class ladies who didn't know style if it came and bit them on the arse but eventually she caught on and scampered back to her till. Where she spent the next half hour sorting sockettes.
Prada was next. Even if you aren't very impressed by Prada you must check them out. Just in case they'd come up with something decent. They too were very much about the weather proofing my feet. These were just not for me, I'd seen better.
Behold a nice pair of shoes. Something absolutely not practical for winter in Canada. I like it! Then again I'm a sucker for most things strappy. It looked like Prada had come up with a contender. I was on a roll.
Over in the corner there was a small row of Sergio Rossi shoes. You know, the ones Hollywood A-listers wear for the Oscars. Well, most of them. There weren't many.
I am not overly excited about these but with the right Julian McDonald dress they could probably make quite a splash. On I went to the familiar love of one of my favorite designer labels.
Dolce & Gabbana have always been favorites, although their outfits aren't as fabulous as they once were. Still they had some wonderful shoes for us.
I was not completely taken by this boot. Actually I was a little disappointed, it just looks awkward yet a little bit kinky. So I moved on quickly to the next row of Dolce % Gabbana.
I'm a sucker for this, very simple and sleek. Certainly something that goes with everything. Although I wouldn't try but I'm sure it would even go with orange. Definately a contender.
I like this one too. This could also do well with something from Julien McDonald I'm sure.
I fell in love with the detail on the heel and silver goes with a lot. Another winner from Dolce & Gabbana.
Now that I'd gone and found choices, all I have to do is pick a pair. That is difficult, and while I do plan on arriving fashionably (in every sense) late, I don't want to show up when the party's over. Do you have any favorites?
I also managed to find this pair online when I got home. Vauxhall anyone?
Vroom vroom!
As a bonus I bought a pair of shoes for IDV. I've been rather rough on him of late and I do appreciate our friendship a lot. Which is also why I took him to meet Kylie in South America. Still for IDV, I think you need these.
I walked past Louis Vuitton, Hermes and then made a quick stop at Gucci. They usually have something to offer, be that a handbag or a pair of shoes. Today it was all studs and not in the good way.
You never know what to encounter in Canada so the style would be ok but what's with the studs? suede is probably not a good choice though.

Birthday boy: The Finale
The circle completes tonight after a week (roughly) of travelling around the world to get to know our favorite birthday boy Tim. On our journey we've met many celebrities who were unlikely to know our Tim and yet they did. Today, on our last day of Tims fabulous birthday bash we are coming a little closer to home. Or homo if you will. IDV would like to say happy birthday, and he put on his Saturday night at the docks finest.
Love the Vivienne Westwood shoes dear.
With that out of the way, I must send my warmest birthday wishes to our dear Tim because he has been in my life for many years. We are such dear friends that we celebrated birthdays together before IDV ever heard the name Tim Leng.
We went on holidays together
Then there was that special occasion. What was it we celebrated then?
Who am I kidding, this is too good not to enlarge for my dear readers.
