Introduction to Danish

MJ reminded me of a Danish comedy group called "Lex & Klatten" which basically means Lex and the drop, blob or blot. However knowing this group it probably references a bit of spooge on a sheet. They were very much like that.

That said, this video "Too Famous" is completely safe for work but you need sound because this is where you learn a bit of Danish. Of course you could also just sit back and cackle at the bizarre language that is Danish.

Have fun!

  1. This *has* to be 90's vintage... right?

These guys are just a tad up themselves, aren't they? I love the 'even though you're famous, you still need to shop and people think we are in the same boat'.

Let's ship all the people like this to an island with only an Aldi and see how they like them. That'll learn them.

Eww. All the girls meow to get laid?

    Awesome post, Pete!

  2. The first guy that sang was kind of cute!

I noticed that "radio" and "interview" sounded similar. The song has a good beat to it!

  3. Oh my gawd! That was too funny!

That blond chick's got a great smoky voice! She should ditch the other 3 losers and tell them, "I'm too famous for this place!"

  5. T-Birdy: It is 90s vintage!

I think it's comedy awesomeness. I watched it a few times before posting and I still think it's funny.

Tara: I quite fancied the other guy

They ended up releasing a CD with all their songs from the comedy show and this was a big hit.

Bingowings: I know. I think the black girl Hella Joof is hilarious. She's a comedy genious.

The blonde is a big Danish movie star now. She has done some singing on her own on compilations. Her name is Paprika Steen.

    Tim: You think?

We didn't think so when their show and album were no 1.

  6. I didn't need the translation.

"Wannabees", for example, is the same in both languages.

  7. That was... excrutiating. Guy with the shades looked like he was straining for a poo at the end of every sentence that he sang.

  8. IVD: Maybe he was trying to fart on a cake.

  9. MJ: You picked up on that, wow. How about interviews miss smartypants?

IDV: That's part of the fun though. I think they actually made a song about that too.

The blonde woman left the show after the first season to do more movies and the others formed something a bit more poo oriented.

Det Brune Punktum or in English The Brown Dot. They were equally funny although slightly more disturbing.

MJ: Like I've said before. Danes don't do that.

  10. Pete, I don't think anyone does that. Except for Americans.

What a waste of a perfectly good cake.

  11. I think you are right about that. Although I did see something about it on Graham Norton which may lead me to think it could be an English thing.
