Not your typical beginning of Christmas post

A lot has happened here since Thursday and I have much to share but not just yet. I don't know how to put it into words as it is and I'm so exhausted and depressed and on my way to bed. Originally I had planned to do a post about Christmas or the actual Christmas party I attended on Friday - maybe later in the week perhaps.

In any case I share with you yet another youtube video. This is a collaboration between Coldplay (the worlds dullest and whiniest bands on the planet - ever!) and Kylie (she's divine). It's called Lhuna and it's not a video but just the song.

At first I really didn't like it. Chris Martin is about the most annoying singer in the world (except that Melua person who sang that song about bicycles in Berlin or something - why doesn't she just jump off a bridge somewhere high preferably) and it sounds like his voice was treated to sound worse. However Kylie is haunting and so is the song. I've listened to it a few times and now I kind of like it. I do however block out Chris Martins vocals because they are atrocious.

Is it really a song for World Aids day or is it a bit too depressing?

  4. Oh, I loathe that Katie Melua track about the bycycles in China or wherever... and the very stupid video that goes with it where she's being trundled along on a trolley... she must have felt every bump... shame.
Yep, let's wipe Chris Martin off this song. He's ruined it. He could have at least stayed sober in the presence of Kylie.
Have another hug from me - look, now you're being smothered with breasts...

  5. MJ: Yes, you came over here didn't you?

    I feel looooooooooove.....

Daisy: Clowns really creep me out. The same with Ronald McDonald.

KAZ: Exactly! But then to me, Chris Martin has always and always will be a zero.

Scarlet: I call insurance companies often in my work and one of them has that as the waiting song. Only that one. I usually email someone there because I can't deal with it. Thankfully I've never seen the video.

Maybe he's always drunk? I totally appreciate the hugs and today I accept the boobs being part of the package.

  6. It sounds like they've slowed his vocal down or something. Most peculiar... we should start a petition to get him removed.

  7. Hope you feel better!

That song was, eh, not one I'd care to listen to again. But we'll see. Yeah, I totally don't get that Coldplay. Isn't that dude the one that married Gwyneth Paltrow and has kid named Apple?

  11. Martin seems to be trying to channel Bowie circa 69/70.

Now I don't want to incite a riot but I am a fan because I really like their composition styling and Chris has a very distinct voice that has a certain je ne sais quoi that makes up for the nasality...then again there are very few bands that I loathe. Maybe I'm just getting too sentimental in my old age but I try to listen to a lot of different bands and look for something positive whether it's just the presence of an extraordinary musician holding up the rest of the band or an impossibly catchy hook.

Music is and should be a very personal experience and these days it's more of an airbrushed image factory..they should ban videos for one year to see which songs actually make it.

  12. I actually like this too, despite Chris Martin (so not a fan). I think it works with his distorted voice - It's less annoying than if it was his unadulterated voice, that's for sure.

I hope you've perked up a bit now, 'Petra?

  13. Scarlet: Absolutely where do I sign up?

    www.coldplay.com ?

Bingowings: I think she was just hungry when she was going to name her daughter

    Gwen: I'm really hungry
Vicar: What do you want to call her?
Gwen: I could go with apple
    Vicar: Ah, Apple it is!
Gwen: Wait, where is my apple?
    Vicar: She's over there
    Gwen: Eh?

Savannah: That was lovely, thanks so much! It really did brighten up my day.

    Tim: Thanks so much mate.

Scarlet: I did! Lovely, wasn't it just?

Donnnnnnnn: Everyones entitled to their own opinions and thankfully we don't all share the same taste in anything really.

I'm usually a catchy hook kind of guy, but I like some stuff that doesn't have that too. I've always found Coldplay pretty bland a dreary. Mostly because my dull friend is a massive fan.

I've started appreciating the song as a whole including Chris Martins vocals. Still Kylies voice in this song is fantastic.

IDV: The more I listen to it, the more I expect Nick Cave to come sneaking in with a rock in his fist.

It's really odd, though, but I think his weird voice is growing on me (only this song though, thank heavens).

I'm feeling a little better, I've made some decisions that I'm quite happy with and it's starting to turn around. Even though I haven't actually done anything about it yet.
