Do you remember this?

We hopefully all remember Kim Wilde and this song View From A Bridge. It was one of my favorites way back.

This showgirl has left the building

Well at least until Sunday. I'm heading back "home" to a company Christmas party thing and won't be back until Sunday afternoon. In the meantime you will be treated to some fabulous entires, so please keep coming back. I'll be around, by the (hopefully) good graces of my darling iPhone. My issues these days are more Telia than iPhone based.

And on the third day...

I was talking to a friend a while back about actors. To be honest I can't remember how we came upon the topic but we often if not always end up talking about famous people, mostly actors and such. As he is a Madonna troll (this is said with as much affection as possible because he is the only lovely Madonna troll ever to be seen on this planet) she is mentioned much but this time we came to talk about dead movie stars.

It may have been when discussing Heath Ledger as I often comment on how I think the only reason people are making him into some sort of acting Messiah or simply put, the best actor who have ever lived because he is dead and starred in a Batman movie. Note how I'm completely unbiased and totally tasteful in the critique of a mans acting I can't base upon the Batman movie as I haven't seen it but rather that of Brokeback Mountain (in which he gruntled a few times and spitshined Jake Gyllenhalls rosebud) and 10 Things I Hate About You. Both good movies in their own right, but I am not overly impressed. Anyway, back on track.

I mentioned how I thought it was so sad that Dom Delouis had died back in the mid 1990s. He was such a good comedic actor. Then I went on to rehash his appearances on the remake of Spellings series Burke's Law, being Fagin in Disneys Oliver & Co, Spaceballs, The Muppets movies and not to forget The Cannonball Run. It was such a sad loss for all of us.

Five minutes later my friend (hereafter known affectionately as Madonna Troll) then noted that my monologue was very sweet but that Dom DeLouis is in fact very much alive. He was in Baby Geniuses with Kathleen Turner and Samantha from Sex & The City in 1995 and that weird guy from Ally McBeal. Oh, right.

I can't say I wasn't a little disappointed but also rather relieved that he was not dead. Well how about John Candy I asked? Oh right, he died in 1994 from a heart attack.

May he rest in peace.

Birthday boy: The Finale

The circle completes tonight after a week (roughly) of travelling around the world to get to know our favorite birthday boy Tim. On our journey we've met many celebrities who were unlikely to know our Tim and yet they did. Today, on our last day of Tims fabulous birthday bash we are coming a little closer to home. Or homo if you will. IDV would like to say happy birthday, and he put on his Saturday night at the docks finest.

Love the Vivienne Westwood shoes dear.

With that out of the way, I must send my warmest birthday wishes to our dear Tim because he has been in my life for many years. We are such dear friends that we celebrated birthdays together before IDV ever heard the name Tim Leng.

We went on holidays together

Then there was that special occasion. What was it we celebrated then?

Who am I kidding, this is too good not to enlarge for my dear readers.

Birthday boy: The Kylie effect

After a horrid experience watching our dear birthday boy Tim being molested by an 80 year old has been I thought it was time for something a bit more perky and pleasant. Naturally I'd gone to see my dear dear friend Kylie who was touring in South America. Unfortunately I'd accidently said something to IDV and he decided to tag along. Kylie was ever so delightful and humoured IDV. First by posing with him.

Then they did a little song.

After the singing and dancing, she had much to say about our dear Timothy. In fact she had presented an award with him in America a few years back.

Performed at the Brits together

Hung out with friend Dita Von Teese at a Dior fashion show

Also, very unknown fact about the Doctor Who Christmas Special Voyage of the Damned. Before the shooting of the show began David Tennant came down a mysterious disease and Russell Davies wasn't sure he could be ready in time. So naturally he called his old friend Tim. Because he had gotten some footage from the original Star Trek series and loved what he'd seen. Unfortunately for Tim David got well in time, and he was bumped. Although secretly Kylie was rooting for Tim. Here is one of the original promo photos for the Christmas Special.

As I don't like having my picture taken, and wasn't really in the mood for having one taken on the day. Which Kylie was a bit sad about, I promised to post an old photo of us together after a party.

It had become quite late and she had to put on a show in front of 15,000 eager Argentinian fans, we said our goodbyes. Before IDV and I left (we had to get him down to the docks before the ships left dock) Kylie had this message for Tim.

Birthday boy: The violation

As a popstar you have to do this and that. It isn't always pleasant or pretty for that matter. So you can imagine my revulsion when I was met by the following when I accidently found myself at her concert.

I can't even begin imagine how traumatised Tim was by that.

Birthday boy: The popstar

After the Gilmore Girls celebration I was at a dead end. I didn't know that much about our Tim. So I got to talk to Lauren Graham about what I should do next. She told me to call Ellen. Well OK then, I'll call Ellen. Seeing as she knows everyone, there was a slim chance she'd know of Tim. Lauren put in a good word for me and within a few minutes I had lunch date with Ellen.

We met at her studio and she confessed to knowing a bit more about our Tims American life. He'd become an American star whose fame didn't quite make it to Europe. Much the opposite of Robbie Williams. Then again, she said, Tim wasn't THAT desperate. He'd been on her show a few times too.

They had danced a lot on that show, given the fact that he was the original member of N'sync and all. Oh yes, she said, but since the media consultants thought it would be bad press to have an English boy in the band when promoting in Europe they'd made a sort of crossover. Whenever N'sync would promote and tour in the US, Tim would come over and do his thing, and when in Europe it would be Justin Timberlake.

He had become really famous in the States and after a while became Justin Timberlakes stand-in.

The American promos made Tim quite famous.

After a few creative differences with the stylists Tim left the band. The shock of Tims departure made the band fall apart and not even Justin Timberlakes desperate attempts could save the band.

Suddenly Ellen was called in to do her show and so she left with this message

With this very interesting surprise, I had to go on to see just what happened to Tim Leng the popstar. Had he really retired or was he still very active in the US.

Birthday boy: The CW lot

I left off yesterday on the CW lot where some of the greats were shot. This is actually the WB lot because back when Tim roamed the lot, it was the channel was called the WB.

It turns out they were shooting some of the stuff for The OC on that lot. So when I went there to meet one of my dear friends Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls (who was doing something secret there), I met someone else.

Unfortunately I'd made the mistake of bringing along someone from the infamous Coven.

I did however manage to get them to pose for a proper photo together, for Tim.

Still no matter what that wall behind them says, I'm not sure they'll ever become "best friends". However Autumn Reeser is really trying to make light of the situation. Bless.

Funny story about the first time Tim.met Autumn. She told it while Lauren was getting ready to leave. Reeser was heading over to the Starbucks and so was Tim. She smiled at him, introduced herself and he just had a goofy grin on his face. Too shy to speak, she recalled. During but Tims run on Smallville they became Starbucks buddies and they would spend their off screen time on the lot together rehearsing their lines and drinking mocca-caffah-frappe-lattas - or something like that. She shared a photo of them together from the last time they met.

Then Lauren Graham came over and we had to go in order to make our reservations at the newest hot spot. We talked in the limo on the way to the restaurant and I naturally told her of my friend Tim who had a birthday coming up on Monday November 10. She said, "are you talking about Tim Leng?". After I agreed, she told me of how they met back when she was doing Gilmore Girls.

Of course, back then Tim didn't have eyes for anything other than Autumn Reeser, she said. That was also why he didn't return to Smallville for a second season. I smiled, "I can only imagine". Then she told him how the girl Rory, or Alexis Bledel had had a huge crush on him and wanted him to join the cast. However her real boyfriend at the time, Milo Venticaramelmacchiata put a stop to it. He simply didn't want to lose her. Still they both sent their birthday wishes.

Tim did make one episode of Gilmore Girls where he got to meet the fabulous Kelly Bishop (the mother to Baby in Dirty Dancing) and she thought he was ever so delightful.

At that point we'd already driven IDV to the docks and we'd gone to dinner. When Lauren Graham followed me back to the Beverly Hills Hotel, she said that she'd come get me in the morning. She had big plans. I had no idea what was in store for me. All she said was to bring my camera.

The next morning I was picked up and driven back out to the CW lot and this is what I was met with.

Later it was time to cut the cake.

Unfortunately I'd brought IDV along. I asked him if he had other expressions. He said no. So you can't really tell that he was actually enjoying this party. I think his expression stuck after meeting Autumn Reeser. Bless.

Birthday boy: The discovery

(remember you can click to make any image larger)

I know you were thinking it yesterday, even if nobody asked why Tim has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A movie star, so to speak. That's one of the many things I've been up to over the weekend.

With all due respect, who knew what a nightmare it is to celebrate the birthday of our blog star Tim. Then you want to have somebody do something and they are not available, and then there the ones who cannot be in the same room as someone else. Complete nightmare. Luckiely I think I came up with a good selection of Tims many A list friends. Three Gucci minis and a pair of strappy Manolo Blahniks later.

Now where were we? Yes, movie star. Hollywood Walk of Fame. Why? Well, I was having a delightful lunch with one of Tims Facebook friends, The Shat. First off he asked me to bring this message to our dear birthday boy.

Besides that he had a little story to tell all of us, who are not in the know. You see, it turns out that our Tim is actually an actor. You see, when Star Trek first aired in the US, our dear birthday boy was in cast.

The Shat spoke with fondness about Tim and shared these original promo shots from the first US airing of the show.

Sadly before the show aired in the rest of the world, something happened. The show was a huge success but with success comes renegotiation of contracts. The Shat told me, after he got his fee, there was nothing for Tim and so Tim had gotten the boot. His scenes were re-shot with a cheaper actor and the re-worked show is now the only available version. The following shot was taken the day Tim left the set.

After this, Tim left the business but he made a quick comeback on Smallville for the CW network as the Green Arrow.

He hoped he would end up on the same lot where they shot The O.C.

Come back again tomorrow for yet another day of Sparkly Tim Happy Birthday Action
